Berkshire
Cognatum’s four estates in Berkshire are located in Hungerford, Newbury, East Ilsley and on the outskirts of Reading in Emmer Green. Home to a multitude of pretty villages, nestled in the rolling hills of the Berkshire downs, as well as several bustling historic market towns, the county offers many possibilities for enjoyable days out. In addition to Windsor Castle and its parks there are several fine stately homes in the locality, including the National Trust's Basildon Park. Racecourses can be found in Windsor, Ascot and Newbury and opportunities to enjoy the river abound in any one of the charming towns that sit on the banks of the winding Thames. When you want to explore further afield the M4 offers easy access to both London and the West Country, the A34 leads you quickly down to the south coast and Heathrow airport can be reached in a matter of minutes. Rail connections are also excellent, with the hub of Reading Station on your doorstep.
