Cognatum’s five Gloucestershire estates can be found in Moreton-in-Marsh, Minchinhampton, Fairford, Cirencester and Lechlade-on-Thames.
Gloucestershire spreads across a wealth of countryside, from the Forest of Dean in the south up to some of the most glorious Cotswold scenery in the north. It’s also renowned for its offering of manicured flora, namely Westonbirt Arboretum, Sudeley Castle and Gardens, Kiftsgate Court Gardens and Batsford Arboretum. Alongside a range of bustling shops, restaurants, museums and galleries, the local towns offer much history and culture, with the Georgian elegance of the spa town of Cheltenham and a number of Roman sites in and around Cirencester. The M5 runs straight through the county, linking the West Country and the Midlands, and the beauty of the Malvern Hills and the Welsh countryside are pleasantly close by.
Broadway sits at the foot of the Cotswold escarpment in a beautiful landscape with the main high street running gently down the final slope to meet the green by the Lygon Arms Hotel. It is full of handsome eighteenth century houses set back from the road built in mellow Cotswold stone with a honey coloured texture creating a picture postcard world. Broadway Tower at the top of Broadway Hill affords fine views across the Vale of Evesham and on a fine day many counties can be seen.
