Visiting Estate Manager
Bramley Grange, Bramley
Bramley Grange is set in five acres of mature, landscaped gardens, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Designed to complement the older houses in the Bramley Village Conservation Area, most of the properties have balconies or conservatories, and cars are out of sight in secure underground private parking. There is also a splendid high-vaulted swimming pavilion with fitness area for use throughout the year.

The high street is just 100 yards away and has a wide range of local shops and numerous places to eat. The superb parkland course of Bramley Golf Club is nearby, as is the cricket club renown for hosting the first all-women’s match in 1745. Surrounded on all sides by countryside, Bramley offers many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors at Loseley Park, Winkworth Aboretum, Albury Park and Thursley National Nature Reserve. Guildford and Godalming are both just three miles distant and have excellent shops, markets, art galleries, theatres, and leisure and sports centres.

Bramley Grange is one of 60 exclusive private estates across the south of England managed by Cognatum Estates, a not-for-profit company where we are looking to recruit a visiting estate manager.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day estate management and to be on hand to assist residents with advice and in emergencies. This role requires a sympathetic and genial personality, but just as essential is the need to be well organized, practical and calm in a crisis.

You will also be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of the grounds, including care of lawns and shrubs, and other small building maintenance tasks.

We are an Equal Opportunities Employer. If you would like the opportunity to work in a highly rewarding environment and can rise to the challenge that managing a retirement estate demands, we would like to hear from you.

Visiting Estate Manager
Bemerton Farm, Bemerton
Bemerton Farm is converted from the model farm built for the Dowager Countess of Pembroke in 1863. The buildings were designed to be beautiful as well as useful, making it unusual although pleasant to look at. There is an enclosed courtyard of stone cottages, a farmhouse and gatehouse, a lovely circular dovecote and even a WWII pill box. A nine-hole golf course runs partly around the estate and across the road is a private walled garden on the River Nadder, with open countryside beyond.

Bemerton is a quaint yet vibrant village with a lively social scene, including film nights and a local history group. It has a beautiful small church, St Andrews, a post office and village store. In contrast to village life, just to the east is the cathedral city of Salisbury with excellent shops, an acclaimed theatre, a cinema and many fine pubs and restaurants. To the west are Wilton and the ancestral seat of the Earls of Pembroke. The beautiful scenery of the New Forest National Park is also easily accessible.
