Knoll Gardens is on the edge of historic Abergavenny in the southern part of the Black Mountains and on the River Usk which has some of the best salmon fishing in southern Britain. It is set in a spectacular setting and is the starting point for the Brecon Beacons National Park. There are magnificent views of Grosment and Skenfrith castles from Campston Hill. The town has many buildings dating from the 16th century and the ruined castle was the scene of many a bloody battle with the Normans desperate to maintain control over their territory.
