Tannery Gardens

Bampton | Oxfordshire

A Blue Cedar Homes Management Company Estate

Views over open countryside from shared gardens.

Bampton was known as Bampton-in-the-Bush as there were few roads to it until the 18th century. It was once one of the largest towns in the county and is now a large village with three roads converging on the square with its handsome stone buildings and Georgian facades, shops and facilities. It has a reputation for fine Morris dancing and excellent good luck cakes sold on the Spring Bank Holiday. The once powerful castle has long since gone but there is a beautiful 12th century minster church and the old prebendal house is a Grade II listed building.
